How will operator changes affect reform?
The Supreme Education Council (SEC) has issued a decision that Independent School operators be required to be the principals of the schools they manage. The decision was ratified by the ministerial cabinet on April 12,2006.

Under the decision, all operators would have until August to meet the new rule, which would make the operator the only qualified full-time person responsible for carrying out the academic, administrative, and financial responsibilities of the school. At present, the operator and principal are different posts.

The SEC took the decision on the belief that clearly stipulating responsibilities is an important factor for achieving accountability at Independent Schools, one of the main principles of the education reform initiative. The change would not eliminate school operators but merely aims to strengthen the roles and responsibilities of principals so that the objectives of the education reform can be achieved.

I totally believe that this is irrational decision that will put the whole process at risk. it will leave operators under pressure and continous threat of dismissing them from their duty, this will only strengthen centralization of decision of supreme council of education.

please rethink it?

I support this decision especially the idea of unifying the figure who to be responsible for school achievement
as operators should be fully dedicated for this higher goal of best education of our children

I believe this decision should have been implemented on the coming schools and not the current operating schools.
