Poor results of the 2007 Qatar Comprehensive Educational Assessment

The deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Arabic daily newspaper Al Sharq raised concerns over the poor results of the 2007 Qatar Comprehensive Educational Assessment (QCEA), which were released on December 30, 2007. He called on the parties involved to look into the strengths and weaknesses of the Qatari reform and make amends accordingly to avoid having similar results in the future.

Mr. Al Harami also expressed hope of convening a public conference to discuss the independent schools’ present situation as well as appropriate means for improving its performance, setting up rules and procedures regarding the appointment of its staff
