What is the Education Institute’s role in regard to the new Independent Schools?

The Education Institute will provide training and will contract with School Support Organizations to provide ongoing assistance to help operators design their schools and write their applications. The Institute will also review draft applications prior to the final submission deadline and provide constructive feedback if applicants request this assistance.

After applications are completed and submitted, Institute staff will evaluate each of the school design components (including the mission statement, education plan, financial plan, governance structure, and plans for implementation). Only the highest quality applications will be recommended to the SEC for approval.
