The Qatar Comprehensive Educational Assessment is unique and differs in significant ways from the national exit exam and other tests currently administered in Qatar. The Qatar Comprehensive Educational Assessment is a battery of tests that will be administered every year at every grade level, and is aligned with the new curriculum standards. The same tests will be given to all students in a particular grade, and the tests will be administered under the same conditions to all students, allowing for meaningful comparisons across schools.

Schools can use the results of the tests to track the progress of a cohort of students and to identify areas where students may need special attention. Policymakers can use the results to monitor the overall progress of the Qatar educational reform and to assess students’ levels of proficiency in the four subject areas that will be tested. The test results will facilitate an assessment of the average performance of students at different schools and their improvement over time.
