Two Workshops on National School Accreditation

SEC School Evaluation Office in the Evaluation Institute concluded a training workshop for private schools on how to prepare self-evaluation studies for the National School Accreditation. The workshop was held in hotel “La Cigale” in the presence of representatives of 61 private schools.

Arabic is the Official Teaching Language at Qatar University

The Supreme Education Council issued a Decree that Arabic should be the official teaching language at Qatar University. The Decree states that students will be directly admitted in all Arabic-taught programs starting from Spring 2012 without the need to study the Foundation Program, providing that the University should consider including subjects successfully completed by students in the Foundation Program into the University requirements.

New Mechanisms and Controls for QCEA 2012

SEC Evaluation Institute has issued the new version of Qatar Comprehensive Educational Assessment mechanisms and controls in order to assist examination officials and supervisors into a legal, decisive and correct decision-making on whether students should pass or fail the exams according to their academic performance level.

Education Excellence Day Awards’ Jury Committees in Action…The Ceremony is Due March 2012

The jury committees for Education Excellence Day Awards (EED) have launched the procedures to examine the documents and applications prior to the selection of the EED winning candidates. The procedures will follow criteria and standards set by the organizing committee of the EED Awards. The jury committees will submit their final report to His Excellency Saad bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Chairman of the Award Board of Trustees, Minister of Education, by February 2nd, 2012.

A Committee To Verify Schools Commitments to the Policies of Extracurricular Activities
