HE Mr. Saad Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council issued a decision appointing Mr. Said Jassim Al Sayed as new Head of the Human Resource Department.

HE Saad Bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council met with HE Mohammed Val Wald Billal, ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to Qatar in his office on August 10, 2010 to discuss issues related to strengthening and developing relations in the field of education.

HE Saad Bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council met with HE Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, India’s ambassador to the State of Qatar to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation in the field of education and higher education.

The Evaluation Institute of the Supreme Education Council has announced that certificates for the second round of the Qatar Secondary School Certificate (QSSC) exams and additional copies required for the first round can be collected from the QSSC Unit of the Evaluation Institute (E ring road) during working hours from 8am to 1pm.

The SEC's Evaluation Institute published the results of the second round of the Secondary School Certificate examinations for the Independent and Semi-Independent schools for the year 2009/2010 on Monday 3rd August after being approved and authorized by His Excellency, Saad Bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education, SEC Secretary General.

The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) will continue to receive registration documents from the first group of selected full time students until August 18,2010.

An official source at the Evaluation Institute assured students sitting for the second round of the Secondary School Certificate examination for independent and semi- independent schools that the opportunity is still available for them to join military colleges. The officials said that the EVI has sent letters to all military colleges in Qatar requesting an extension of the acceptance period until 20 / 8 / 2010 thus enabling them to apply after the announcement of their results.

The Supreme Education Council has begun for the first time the implementation of parallel education program under the independent schooling system. The Education Institute has announced the beginning of registration for Grade 12 students in parallel education (home schooling) program for the academic year 2010/2011 from July 20 - 26, 2010.

The Supreme Education Council has extended the deadline for registration in parallel (evening and home) schooling to Thursday July 22, 2010 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm instead of the previously set date of July 14, 2010.
