The SEC launches three diploma programs to train teachers

The Supreme Education Council (SEC) in collaboration with Qatar University (QU) has announced a number of opportunities and programs for the rehabilitation and employment of teachers including three programs - Primary, Secondary and Special Education Diplomas. This move is part of the SEC’s strategy to provide training opportunities, professional development and ultimately employment to Qataris and encourage and attract them to join the teaching profession.

150 teachers graduate from the British Council

At least 150 teachers will receive the Academic Language Support Programme (ALP) certificates after successfully completing the three phases of the programme, which is designed to improve the capacity for maths and science teachers in independent schools to teach their subjects in the English medium

Registration for the assistant teacher training program begins

The Education Institute in collaboration with Qatar University recently announced the beginning of the registration process for the assistant teacher training program for the kindergarten level. The workshops will be held at Qatar University only in the mornings and will cover English, educational subjects and ICT.

Education Institute distributes certificates to 177 teachers

The Education Institute distributed attendance certificates to 177 teachers marking the completion of Phase I of the Academic English Training Programme. The event was attended by Dr. Jan Wilson, director of the Professional Development Office at the Education Institute and Mr. Simon Winetroube, director of the British Council which implements the program.

Native English speakers to teach at Independent schools

More professional support for teachers

The Faculty of Education in collaboration with the Education Institute held a training program aimed at preparing teaching assistants to work in KG through to Grade 3. At the end of the 376-hour training, trainees receive certificates accredited by the Education institute and the Faculty of Education.
