Education Institute accepting applications for training program

Following an agreement signed between Qatar University and the Education Institute to provide teacher-training programs aimed at enhancing the performances of independent schoolteachers and improving their capabilities and professionalism, the Education Institute is currently accepting applications from teachers.

The Education Institute is currently accepting applications from teachers willing to join teacher-training programs to upgrade their teaching levels. Professional development courses will be offered to old teachers and fresh graduates while high school graduates will receive assistant teacher training courses. The training aims to improve the teachers capabilities and competencies and bringing them up to date on the most recent education practices. There are two programs:

• Assistant teacher program for kindergarten
• Professional development program for male and female teachers

The two programs will be implemented by the Faculty of Education at Qatar University and funded by the Supreme Education Council. The programs are aimed improving teacher quality, performance, develop the education system and promote the teachers professionally, financially and socially.

Registration forms can be downloaded from the following website: http://education.gov.qa. Completed forms should be returned to the Education Institute by May 15, 2008.
