SEC to receive 19 new Independent schools from Ashgal

The Head of Educational Projects Section at Ashgal (Public Works Authority), Engineer Abdul Mohsen Al-Rashid announced that 19 new Independent schools with an estimated cost of 950 million riyals will be handed over to the Supreme Education Council next month.

Al-Rashid said the construction of these schools is part of Ashgal project for constructing 41 schools planned to expand the Independent schools' project. He added that work to construct 22 more schools will begin in the next academic year.

The Independent school contain 25 classrooms, 5 laboratories, 9 sports halls, 3 swimming pools, assembly hall, painting room, and cafeteria, playing grounds and a parking area. Ashgal has prepared a plan to construct 100 Independent schools within five years. Sixty have been completed and 40 will be delivered within the year, two years earlier than scheduled.
