The Supreme Education Council’s executive committee has issued a decision to continue funding government employees that are studying under the employee scholarship until the end of the fiscal year.
“The Higher Education Institute (HEI) will continue to offer scholarships to government employees to allow them to pursue further studies and advanced training to increase their potential,” said Mohammed Al Mannai, the acting director of the HEI. “This decision not only allows government entities to have more efficient and qualified personnel but also increases the cooperation between the HEI and other government organizations.” The universities on the HEI list of accredited universities are not limited to providing certification but are also responsible for refining the skills of students and preparing them to join competitive positions in the job market. A decision made by the Executive Committee in November 2006 allows government organizations to send employees or give them leave or scholarships to study bachelors, Masters and doctoral disciplines as required by these organizations using their own budget. The HEI is required to provide the necessary counseling and guidance services in addition to giving details about the scholarship programs in general. |
