The Education Excellence Day (EED) executive committee has announced that the deadline for submitting entries for the education excellence awards has been extended to October 9, 2008. The Education Excellence Day is held annually under the auspices of HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, chairperson of the Supreme Education Council (SEC). The awards recognize outstanding achievement in different categories including High school graduates; Teachers; Schools; Research project by high school students; University graduates and; Ph.D. holders.
The EED awards honour the best and brightest, and celebrate the success of Qataris who show academic excellence; promote and encourage excellence among all people and organizations; support positive initiatives in knowledge and scientific research and; encourage innovation amongst students, researchers and educational organizations. Qatar will celebrate the Education Excellence Day in November for the third consecutive year. Excellence Day is an extension of its forerunner Education Day, which has been celebrated in Qatar for the past 45 years. Application and nomination guidelines in English, along with a detailed description of each award are available online. Completed applications and nominations must be submitted by October 9, 2008. |
