Mr. Al Mannai insisted that the programs are performed following instructions from Her Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education and the Supreme Education Council Secretary General Mrs. Sheikha Al Mahmoud as well as the Qatar leadership. He added that he hopes to see more teachers in these programs in order to create their Educational Advise Association in collaboration with Qatar Foundation, after being awarded their International Licenses. The advising and career centres have a significant role in all the schools and the educational institutes due to the significant role of the counselors in providing assistance and mentoring to the students in order to discover their skills and capabilities. Dr. Hassan Al Mohannadi, director for the Technical Office of the Permanent Population Committee also spoke about the needs of the Qatari job market during the training. Mrs. Salwa Salih Attiya, consultant and counselor for the Advising and Career Centre said that the training was comprehensive. The trainees benefited enormously from the training. Officials from the advising and career centre attended more than 80 hours of training in addition to the practical training. The advising and career centre has also issued a “Booklet Guide” that highlights on the concept of counseling and advising and the techniques to reach the right decisions. The booklet focuses on the job market demands for the different professions and careers, in addition to providing assistance and advice to high school graduates to join foreign universities. |
