The Education Institute of the Supreme Education Council in collaboration with Qatar University recently announced the beginning of the registration process for the assistant teacher training program for the kindergarten level. The workshops will be held at Qatar University only in the mornings and will cover English, educational subjects and ICT. It is a one-year program beginning in October 2009 until May 2010; teachers qualifying for the certificate should spend at least three years teaching at a kindergarten and the teachers will receive of three thousand Qatari Riyals while on training.

Some of requirements include: the applicant should be Qatari or born to a Qatari woman and should have a high school certificate. Applications should be accompanied with a recent photo, a copy of the Id and copies of experience certificate, if any. All completed applications should be submitted at the Education Institute on 'C' Ring Road along with the required documents. Applications forms can be downloaded from SEC website. Deadline for submission is Thursday, May 14, 2009.

The Education Institute signed an agreement with Qatar University to provide teacher-training programs aimed at enhancing the performances of independent schoolteachers and capabilities and professionalism. The program will be implemented by the Faculty of Education at Qatar University and funded by the Supreme Education Council.
