Following directions from the Heir Apparent HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, HE Saad Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General for Supreme Education Council that all the capable Qatari educators would join the independent schools. Committees headed by Ministry officials had been set up to select the nationals to join the SEC. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education will be assimilated into SEC within two months.

The minister added that the policy for Qatari employees in the independent schools is under review to include many benefits and bonuses. HE Saad Al Mahmoud said in order for Qatar to stay on track to achieve its 2030 vision on education, all Ministry of Education schools will be transformed into independent schools by next year.

On its part, the Education Institute developed a Qatarization plan that guarantees recruiting qualified educators from Ministry of Education to work in the Independent schools. The institute also announced that all the employees' benefits are similar to those given to employees in the public sector.

Sabah Al Haidoos, Education Institute director urged operators in a meeting, to achieve the Qatarization ratio as stipulated in each school plan, adding that the Supreme Education Council would finance any increase of the school budget. To ease the recruitment process for Qatari educators, the Education Institute provided all the information about schools, their email addresses, an employees guide and a support request form on the SEC’s website.

Also in progress is the implementation of a new system that eases the registration procedures in the independent schools. HE Saad Al Mahmoud assured parents that the next phase would concentrate on creating stronger relationships between parents and school operators.
