The IT department of the SEC has linked all the independent schools with a broadband wireless Internet connection to enable teachers and students to access to K-net which provides teaching and learning resources.

All independent schools have been linked with a broadband Internet connection - K-net, - which provides both teachers and students access to teaching and learning resources. The project was completed in three phases – field survey; designing the network and; installation and final security check of the network.

K-net provides knowledge from different sources online. The project is part of the SEC’s effort to develop extensive educational infrastructure to independent schools. It will enable many schools to communicate and carry out projects like the Knowledge Network, and the e-schoolbag which was implemented at Al Wakra Independent School for Girls and Omar Bin Al Khattab Complex for Boys.
