To highlight the progress of Qatar’s comprehensive education reform effort, the Supreme Education Council hosts annual symposiums every March 15. These symposiums provide excellent opportunities for local and international experts to discuss and review the milestones of Qatar’s education reform – Education for a New Era. Attendees also receive copies of the annual report which contains inspirational testimonials from parents, teachers and students on the achievements of the reform, as well as SEC’s continued efforts to highlight the progress and the future plans of the reform.

2009

Educators, the Supreme Education Council (SEC) officials, a leading international scholar, and parents discussed the impact of foreign influences on our children’s identity and the role schools can play in our children’s moral and cultural education during the SEC’s sixth annual symposium on Monday, March 16, 2009 at the Four Seasons Hotel. 2008

Parents can have a tremendous impact on the educational success of their children according to speakers at the Supreme Education Council’s annual symposium, “Parents: Partners in Education.” The event, which to focused on the impact of parental engagement in education, the role parents can play in the children’s education and how schools can better engage parents.

2007

The symposium entitled “Illuminating Learning with Technology” gave a fresh and insightful look at how technology can enhance teaching and learning in the classroom and makes learning a deeper and more lasting experience for students.
2006

A panel of international and local experts came together to reflect on ways to develop creativity among students at the second annual symposium hosted by the Supreme Education Council (SEC) to mark the third anniversary of Qatar’s education reform effort.
2005

International education experts joined Qatari leaders in a dialogue on education reform in Qatar and around the world. Entitled “Hiwar: Supreme Education Council Annual Symposium,” on the second anniversary of the launch of Qatar’s education reform effort. Education Reform Becomes Reality

Forum on Qatar Education Reform Intiative

A forum on Education for a New Era, the Qatar education reform initiative, took place at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha.
Participants included H.H the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim, H.H Sheikha Mozah, and numerous leaders of government, business and academia in Qatar.
