The HEI’s scholarship office is responsible for administering scholarship programs which enable students to be supported in under-graduate and post-graduate studies at the best higher education institutions in Qatar and around the world. This office is also responsible for following up on scholarship recipients’ financial and administrative affairs, and monitoring their academic progress by communicating with their respective universities, guardians and students themselves via e-mails, phone calls, letters or visits.
The scholarship office administers scholarship programs based on the following geographic distribution:

Each program consists of the following scholarships:

Emiri Scholarship Program
This scholarship is awarded to students who show potential as future leaders by having excelled academically in secondary school.

National Scholarship Program
The National Scholarship Program provides support for students with the potential to become qualified professionals in the different sectors of the State of Qatar.
Requirements of the Emiri & National Scholarship Programs (undergraduate)

Qatari applicants only.

Completion of the secondary school certificate or its equivalent earned over the last five years.
-
Letter of unconditional acceptance from an Institution on the Emiri list.
-
No additional financial support from any other official sponsor is permitted.
-
Agreement to work in an area of importance to Qatar upon graduation for a period equal to the length of the scholarship
Requirements for absorption into the Emiri and National scholarship programs (undergraduate):

Qatari applicants only.
-
Completion of the first year of study; Foundation or Freshmen (original sealed transcript is required).
-
University must be on the Emiri or the National lists
-
No additional financial support from any other official sponsor is permitted during the length of the scholarship whether from inside or outside Qatar.

Employee Scholarship Program
This program provides opportunities for highly potential employees in certain sectors to pursue further studies and advanced training in areas of utmost importance to Qatar’s economic and social future, on the graduate level.
Requirements of the Employee Graduate Scholarship Program:

Qatari applicants only.

Completion of a Bachelor degree program for students applying for a Masters degree.

Completion of the Masters program for students applying for PhD.

Letter of unconditional acceptance from an institution on the Emiri or National lists.

Nomination letter from employer

The work place does not offer scholarship programs

No additional financial support from any other official sponsor is permitted.

Agreement to work in an area of importance to Qatar upon graduation for a period not less than the length of the scholarship.

College of North Atlantics
This program targets students who are interested in pursuing their studies in vocational and technical fields that are highly demanded by the Qatari labor market who are accepted at the College of North Atlantic.
Requirements for the College of North Atlantic:

Pre-college Grant program
This grant supports students who need additional academic preparation before joining university. This is available through the Academic Bridge Program for students who will enroll in HEI-approved institutions at English speaking countries.
Students who join the HEI-approved institutions in non-English speaking countries will have the opportunity to enroll in language institutes for a maximum of one year to qualify for completing their studies in the country of scholarship.

Requirements for the Pre-college grants in foreign institutes

A minimum average of 80% in the secondary school certificate or its equivalent obtained within the last five years.

Enroll in a language institute for a maximum of one year.

Letter of unconditional acceptance from an institution recognized by the HEI.
-
It is advisable that the students prepare themselves for basic language skills from grade 12 in one of the local institutes.

Process of applying for a scholarship

Submit file to the Advising and Career Development Office (ACC)
-
Complete the on-line scholarship application
-
Submit the student’s file to the scholarship committee
-
Receive a decision from the scholarship committee
-
Transfer the student’s file after gaining acceptance to a scholarship program to the scholarship office
-
Follow–up all scholarship related issues with the scholarship office.

Procedures followed by the Scholarship Office after acceptance:

Ensure students submit all the required documents
-
Decision to grant the student the scholarship
-
Academic & financial follow-up of scholarship recipients on a continuous basis by communicating with the student and the university via e-mails and phone calls.
Once the student is informed about acceptance for receiving a scholarship the following letters are prepared:
Congratulations letter
Letter to the embassy to facilitate visa issuance
A letter to the Medical Commission to facilitate and complete the medical procedures
Prepare the work leave permit letter in case the student is employed
Financial sponsorship letter to the university
Complete and sign the medical insurance application
Prepare the contract to be signed by the student and his guarantor
Prepare the L.P.O letter after the visa is issued
Prepare a request letter for monthly allowances and stipends
The student:

Will complete and submit the settling-in report after he resides in the country of the scholarship where he will provide a copy of the special seal for the point of departure and entry and a special letter from his university showing the date of enrollment at the university
